The product, in the report: Patio table. SUS695Y-2014-New- Searcy-Lane
I purchased a patio set, 3 years ago, at Walmart. The set had a table, 4 chairs and an umbrella. Was not expensive. This past Friday, I was sitting outside, and went into the house, and was only in the house a matter of seconds, when I heard a loud noise. I went back outside, and the glass on my table, was shattered, and all the glass was in millions of pieces, on my deck. It took me forever, to sweep up most of the glass. A lot of it is now embedded in the grooves of my deck. I missed my legs being cut up, by mere seconds. I contacted the manufacturer, and they said I could purchase another glass top for $50. I replied, that I did not want their defective glass, and I was ordering another table. They, replied again, that I could purchase another glass top, for the cost of shipping, $20. I also declined that offer, as I am afraid of their glass. Walmart is still selling this patio set, and it is sold out, so many people have purchased it. I think consumer’s should be warned, that the glass is defective, and possibly could cause injury. I had nothing on the table, at the time it shattered, except a small ashtray, a pack of cigarrettes, and a lighter. Nothing heavy. Sometimes I have sat outside, and had a book, on the table. It was about 85 degree’s out, so heat should not have caused this. I have talked to numerous people, and no one has ever heard of this happening before. Can you look into this?

The product, in the report: This was a brown, metal frame rectangular patio table with a glass top. The glass top was black. Courtyard Creations is the manufacturer.
This was a patio table with a tempered glass top. We purchased it 10 months ago from Farm & Fleet. Not sure of the model, but the company that manufactures it is called Courtyard Creations Inc. I was in my house, windows open, and heard a loud, crashing sound coming from the patio. Immediately looked out the window to find that the glass table top had just spontaneously exploded. No one was near it at the time, so thankfully there are no injuries to report. Glass was everywhere and no piece was very big-everything was completely shattered. After going outside and examining the mess, all that could be heard was the glass popping. We so have pictures and videos available.
