The bedroom furniture set was delivered to the consumer’s house on 03/30/16.

The consumer noticed an odor coming off of the furniture set. The consumer left the windows open to air out the odor.

The consumer had to close the windows on 04/02/16 because of rainy weather. The consumer stated that the odor became stronger after she closed the windows. The consumer experienced health symptoms like burning eyes, scratchy throat, dry nose (with blood sometimes), and mild headache.

The consumer stated that 3 other people who came over to her house has noticed the strong odor.

The consumer is unable to sleep in the room.

The consumer contacted the retailer on 04/04/16. The consumer spoke with [REDACTED] and explained the situation to her. [REDACTED] informed the consumer that she will contact Liberty in regards to the situation and get back to her. [REDACTED] contacted the consumer back to notify her what the company said. The consumer was informed that the company does not use any products that would cause chemical odor to come off of the furniture set.

When the consumer went on the firm’s website, she noticed that the materials being used in this furniture set can have chemicals like formaldehyde.

The consumer asked the retailer if the company could come out and test the furniture. The consumer was informed that the company would not offer that.

The consumer spoke to the manager of the store on 04/06/16. The manager understood the issue and asked the consumer to keep the area ventilated for a few more days. He stated that sometimes if the furniture is left in the packaging for too long in the storage room, it can emit stronger odors. The consumer was asked to ventilate the area for another week. If the odor does not go away, the manager stated that they will provide a replacement set. The consumer does not know if she feels comfortable getting another similar set.

The consumer has kept the area well ventilated but is still not feeling any better. The symptoms still persist.
