  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 21, 2014, sent to the company Jul 30, 2014, published by CPSC Aug 13, 2014

The product, in the report: two layer glass cocktail table with the second layer having wheels that could be pulled out for extra serving space when guests are present. Please note that the address for the manufacturer is the only address i could find the the US.

On June 30 at 4:30 in the morning, I heard a noise. I went from my bedroom to the Great Room to find the two layer glass cocktail table “exploded.” Had I and/or my husband or any guests been sitting there, we would have been injured. The broken glass was as far away as the den…approximately 20 feet from the incident. My husband and I looked up at the ceiling to see if perhaps a bulb has fallen to break the table. Nothing had fallen. I took photos and the receipt to the furniture store and asked to speak with THE manager, [REDACTED]. He said he had never seen anything like this before. He advised me that the store’s warranty was 90 days, but he took the photos and said he would contact the manufacturer and I should call him in a few days. I did call back and he told me the manufacturer’s warranty was 2 years. The table was 4 years old. Of course,we would like to be compensated as this is a defect in the table. And on the other hand, I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else, so I told [REDACTED] that I was going to contact Consumer Protection and the Florida Attorney General’s office. I did contact the Attorney General Office, and Attorney General [REDACTED] suggested that I follow up with CPSC as she had forward ed my complaint to you.
