The product, in the report: Jaclyn Smith Addison Patio set Model # SC-160-2NT/2

I purchased the Jaclyn Smith Addison patio set 6/13. My children and I were in the house and heard a noise outside. Our table shattered into a million pieces. I am so thankful that we were not eating outside tonight. What a disaster this could have been. Kmart gave me the run around on the phone for 2 1/2 hours. They say they “can’t do anything” and I need to call the manufacturer tomorrow. I was more upset after I was trying to find replacement glass to see all the complaints about this exact table exploding! Shame on Kmart/Sears/Numark and Jaclyn Smith for putting her name on this. It is a hazard and has been for years. It should have been pulled off the market years before I bought it.

The product, in the report: Glass top patio table and chairs

Our glass top table was sitting outside on our deck. During the night we heard a loud explosion and went outside to investigate it. We found our glass patio table had exploded leaving behind hundreds of pieces of glass shreds.

The product, in the report: Jaclyn Smith Addison Dining Table with Lazy Susan

I purchased a glass-topped table from Kmart - item identified as “Jaclyn Smith Addison Dining Table with Lazy susan”. I have owned if for one year, and left it outside on teh porch all winter. It was covered with a tarp all winter, and never had any snow accumulation greater than 2 inches.

Last week, while I was outside working on the yard, the glass on the table gave a giant pop and it collapsed into tens of thousands of tiny pieces. After the “explosion” a large numebr of small glass pieces continues to crackle and pop for over 5 minutes.

Nothing heavy had ever been put on the table, we never put an umbrella in teh stand, did not move the table, and never did anything that could have possibly caused it stress. I will note that this was very shortly before a storm and I could feel a change in air pressure coming through.

I see on th eKmart website that this table has multiple negative reviews describign the glass breaking.
