The product, in the report: Haleigh 48’’ Pedestal Dining Table Model W003529693 It is a dining table with the legs made of wood and a round top made entirely of tempered glass. The table is 29.5” tall and 48” wide, which seats 4. It was purchased through Wayfair, labeled as the brand AllModern (which Wayfair owns) but when I reached out to AllModern they said I should contact the manufacturer, which is AEON Furniture.

I have owned a kitchen table with a tempered glass top for 2 years, purchased through Wayfair in 2019. Two days ago while we were eating breakfast at the table, the glass spontaneously exploded. There was nothing that prompted this, such as something falling on it. It also did not slowly crack and then break apart; one moment it was a solid table and the next moment it was in a million little pieces. The shattered glass continued to pop on the ground. Aside from glass being everywhere, there were some small pieces that scratched us and some that we had to pull out from between our toes not from walking on it, but just by sitting at it in the moment it exploded. It was just my wife and I, and we have two cats who luckily ran away when they heard the sound. We also have to replace the dishes/glasses that were on top of the table, as well as cases for phones and an [REDACTED] that had small pieces of glass stuck in their cases.
