The product, in the report: Glass Coffee/Cocktail Table. Grant City 3 Pc Table Set

We purchased a Glass Coffee/Cocktail Table from Rooms To Go with many other furniture for the living room. My husband tripped and placed his right hand on this table, which was in front of him, to balance. The glass broke into sharp pieces. He sustained severe lacerations on his right hand and lost lots of blood. He suffered a tendon tear, two arteries cut and nerve damages on his right palm and two fingers (ring, middle). He was rushed to the emergency room by 911 paramedics with acuity level 1. At the hospital he was admitted for a reconstructive surgery the following day, after a resident surgeon attended his wounds. The surgery took close to four hours, with tendon, arteries and nerve repairs. He had 27 stitches on his palm and the two fingers. He had to follow up with the plastic surgeon for at least 5 months in two weeks intervals and meet the hand therapist thrice a week. He had his hand in a cast during the recovery. The wound/stitches required cleaning everyday. Now even after an year later, his right hand is only 75% functional. This is when I realized that his hand is not going to recover fully and the product needs to be recalled. I reported this incident to Rooms To Go and requested the Glass Furniture products that are not made of tempered glass to be recalled. But I have not got a positive response and the very product is still on sale.
