The product, in the report: stainless steel and glass coffee table
(08/07/2021) The consumer stated that the bottom glass shelf of the coffee table exploded. No one was at home at the time. When they returned to the home, she noticed that glass was allover the room.
The manufacturer was contacted. Corporate headquarters asked for photos. The consumer’s case was reviewed. The consumer was advised that manufacture defects were required to be reported within a year and the incident happened outside of the year.
“Description of risks or harm”: The danger of this product is that it exploded for no reason , sending hundreds of small jagged pieces of glass up to 10 feet away. Could result in serious injury or death. Luckily this happened when we were not home, sitting around the table as we do every evening, but we arrived home to find the explosion of glass covering the floor and pieces that had shot up to 10 feet away. Please add this to our report.
