The product, in the report: Glass top for patio table. Set is made from high-quality cast metal (aluminum/wrought iron?)

On July 15, 2015, the glass top on my patio table spontaneously shattered. The table top was made of tempered safety glass. To my knowledge, there was no previous damage to the glass and there was nothing that hit the table (such as a rock, etc.) to cause it to shatter. We found no evidence of anything of that nature on the patio. I was inside the house and heard a loud crash outside. No one was near the table at the time it shattered so there were no injuries. The patio table was underneath a covered area on our back patio. The table is exposed to afternoon sun for a period of time each day. The table was part of a high-quality set manufactured by Cast Classics. It was purchased at Patio 1 Furniture in Houston, Texas approximately 15 years ago. I notified the store where we purchased the table and they are attempting to work this out with the manufacturer.
