The product, in the report: Six-piece dining set
The consumer indicates that she was watching television when she heard a loud explosion. The consumer got up immediately, turned around, and saw glass everywhere in her dining room as the glass table of her six-piece dining set had exploded. The consumer started cleaning up the glass shards and received small cuts on her legs and hands; the consumer placed a bandage over them.
The consumer contacted the retailer and explained the situation, as well as sent some photographs; the representative she spoke to informed her that they would escalate her complaint to the manufacturer and have them contact her.
The consumer states that the dining set was for decorative purposes so it was never used.
The consumer is unsure if she will be keeping her dining set for at least the next thirty days.
UPDATED ON 8/8/2023: [To Add, but when I originally purchased and received the dining set I reported a chemical smell that was coming from the set to the Reseller Overstock. They told me that the smell will go away in a couple weeks. It eventually did, but I wanted to mention just in case I had something to do with the table blowing up, so maybe although the smell or chemical subsided, it was still present on the glass table. Also, see attached photos and video. I called both the reseller and overstock, and no one seems to care about the urgency of us or the importance of this. Someone can get really hurt from a table explode. I was fortunate in this case, but the next person may not be. ]
