The product, in the report: 5 PC Dinette Key BISCA. A table with glass top.
On 1/6/2016, as we were standing in the kitchen, we heard a loud sound like that of a gunshot and saw the glass top of the table shatter into a pieces right in front of our eyes. I can tell you that we had not places anything on the table all it had on it was a small vase. The glass pieces were shattered all over the first floor and has now damaged a good part of my wooden floor and also furniture and other items adjacent to it.
Please check out the pictures attached. In addition to the financial losses, I would like for you to note that this is also a safety hazard and this product should be recalled immediately.
I wish that we were warned of the risk in taking home a ‘bomb waiting to explode’ as we purchased this item. I earnestly hope that Value City will warn the future customers of this item and the risk involved in owning that. I have seen that similar product has had similar complaints in SaferProduct.gov. Below is the reference to one reported in Value City itself.
