Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jul 24, 2018, sent to the company Aug 1, 2018, published by CPSC Aug 22, 2018

The product, in the report: WorkPro® 26 1/2”D 4-Drawer Letter-Size Vertical File Cabinet, Black Item # 450092 from Office Depot

We purchased two 4-drawer file cabinets from Office Depot. WorkPro® 26 1/2”D 4-Drawer Letter-Size Vertical File Cabinet, Black, Item # 450092

They are unsafe due to tipping and entrapment hazards. An employee was filing and pulled the top drawer out to file in the back of the file drawer. It tipped over on her, falling on her arm and she was holding on, as she tried to push it to stand back up. The weight of the file cabinet was too much and at that point, she had to let it go as it was hurting her arm. If it had been a smaller person or a child, they may have been seriously injured. (At that point, there was only two drawers filled.)
