The product, in the report: 30 inch Dickson gray washed teak vanity
I ordered a Dickson gray washed teak bathroom vanity from Signature Hardware. The vanity has emitted a strong odor for about 4 months and it seems to keep on getting worse. My eyes are very irritated and I believe it is being caused by severe offgasing of the vanity. Signature Hardware has told me the product contains the following chemicals, among others: methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) and Toluene (which I understand have the potential to be harmful). I am very concerned that the product is unsafe.
Note that Signature Hardware is a store that operate s an online website and has a physical store in the U.S. The company does not manufacture furniture but rather sells furniture made by third parties (it does not release information on the vendors). I am concerned that Signature Hardware may not be adequately vetting the vendors for product safety.
