Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Cabinet enclosure for chimney duct which is part of Kitchen cabinets. The color is Tannery Maple finish ( Shaker/E377)

The cabinet enclosure hiding the chimney duct in our home popped up and fell off. I was cooking and standing near the gas stove, and before I could realize there was a cracking sound and a heavy piece hit my shoulder, then my right hand wrist and fell with a crashing noise on the kitchen floor. The nails of the cabinet popped out upon impact. I sustained some injury on my shoulder and wrist on the right hand side. Our home was built by [REDACTED] homes in 2022 and the cabinets were installed by Royal Cabinets.I filed a complaint with [REDACTED], but their representative said that it is out of the 1 year warranty period. However some of my neighbors in the neighborhood have mentioned that their cabinet also fell off or is loose. All of the houses in our community have been built by same builder and this pattern shows that it is builder fault and should be covered under structural warranty. This is a safety hazard pointing towards defective material or installation and should be remediated by the builder.
