First aid Made Jun 29, 2024, sent to the company Jul 2, 2024, published by CPSC Jul 17, 2024
The product, in the report: Pottery barn kids collectors shelf 3 ft
My child went to pull a book from a battery barn kids bookshelf and it fell on him after the mounts ripped out of the back of the shelf. The mounts were tiny 1/4 screws, screwed into an mdf board.
The shelf then fell off the wall hitting my child, hitting the identical shelf below it, causing the second shelf to fall off the wall, ripping the mounts out of that unit and hit is foot.

No one hurt Made Feb 20, 2021, sent to the company Mar 9, 2021, published by CPSC Mar 23, 2021
The product, in the report: Pottery Barn Cameron 4 Shelf Bookcase in white. Dimensions: 30” wide x 14” deep x 54” high
Pottery Barn Cameron 4 Shelf Bookcase mounting hardware failed. Plastic mounting hardware that was included with bookcase snapped. Mounting hardware was installed according to the directions provided. Luckily, I noticed the bookcase was pulled out from the wall farther than usual and saw that it was not secured to the wall. There were no injuries but there was a possibility of the bookcase falling on my child. Mounting hardware should be metal, not plastic that can easily break under pressure.

No one hurt Made Sep 6, 2017, sent to the company Sep 15, 2017, published by CPSC Sep 29, 2017
The product, in the report: Industrial metal bookcase with removable bins. A distressed, rustic finish, classic bracket drawer pulls and label holders give this storage an authentic look.
We recently purchased the Rockwell 6-drawer bookcase (item 780759) from the online Pottery Barn Teen store.
The bookcase is metal and lovely but very problematic. The six double-sided drawers have a design flaw. Nothing prevents the drawers from stopping and therefore falling out. We were setting up our new bookcase tonight and my 12-year-old son added an item to one of the drawers, and it fell out and landed on his foot. He is fine and there was no damage. There weren’t many items in the drawer yet.
If a consumer uses these drawers for books, a child could get seriously injured. As noted, the unit and drawers are metal. With nothing stopping the drawers from falling out, it could easily and quickly become dangerous.

Hurt, no treatment Made Mar 14, 2013, sent to the company Mar 22, 2013, published by CPSC Apr 12, 2013
The product, in the report: Pottery Barn KIds Madison 3 shelf bookrack
I purchased a Pottery Barn Kids 3 shelf book rack (bookshelf) from a Pottery Barn outlet store. There was no notation on the book rack that it requires mounting hardware etc. Yesterday it fell onto my sleeping child. I immediately looked the product up online and saw that it was supposed to be sold with safety hardware, but as stated none was included at the outlet and there were no notations on the sales ticket that it had missing parts. I called Pottery Barn Customer service and was passed to multiple people and was finally told that they would not provide me the parts to make the shelf safe.
I am furious that I was sold an unsafe product with no warning or notation that it needed hardware to be safe and even more furious that Pottery Barn will not provide a simple set of hardware to make it usable and safe.
Pottery Barn should not be allowed to sell children’s furniture that is missing the necessary items to make it safe for use. It is irresponsible and is endangering children.
