As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Apr 18, 2025, sent to the company May 1, 2025, published by CPSC May 15, 2025

The product, in the report: Shelf. I threw away the box but the supplied installation manual provides the following contact information for the manufacturer. Plycraft Industries Inc. [REDACTED] Huntington Park, CA, 90255 Email: plycraft_customerservice@yahoo.com Toll Free Number: 1-800-765-9035 Telephone Number: 1-323-587-8101 [REDACTED]

No one was injured but as an engineer I believe a high potential for injury exists. This shelf is very tall (84”), narrow (10.63”), & heavy (229 lbs). It comes with two, tiny zip ties to secure it to the wall and provides plastic drywall anchors to connect it to the wall. Due to the product dimensions I worry this product could easily tip as it isn’t well balance and if so that it could cause great injury or death. The supplied hardware is very prone to failure, either through the zip ties breaking or due to the dry wall anchors pulling out of any wall they are installed in. Additionally, the installation manual claims that these items aren’t actually meant to be functional as it says “WARNING: This product is only a deterrent. It is not a substitute for proper adult supervison”
