The product, in the report: 2 Door Media/Storage Cabinet. Mango wood with cast aluminum detailing of tree branches on the front of the cabinet and doors with cast aluminum legs.
Global Views 2 Door Branch Cabinet #9.9219 purchased from Interiors INC of Hudson, Ohio. During delivery and set up the cabinet tipped over repeatedly. Cabinet is 60”L x 34.5”H x 18.5”W and weighs 160 lbs. Regardless of positioning the cabinet tipped over every time one or both doors were opened. There were no leveling devices on the leg bottoms nor wall anchor fasteners on the back of the cabinet. When the delivery personnel measured the legs of the cabinet they did not match. The delivery company supervisor was contacted, who in turn contacted the vendor who told him to “instruct me not to open the cabinet doors”. (It is advertised as a media storage cabinet). At this time the delivery personnel, supervisor, and myself agreed the cabinet posed a safety issue and I refused delivery.I contacted customer service at Global Views as well as their National and Regional Sales Director and was told they were not responsible for the cabinet’s tipping issue. I have discovered that this model was discontinued and replaced with a new model, #9.0134 which is 87”L x 34”H x, 24”W. I inquired if this was done because of the tipping issue. I have not received a response. This cabinet poses a significant safety risk if it were to tip over on a person, especially a child. The lack of communication from both the retail vendor and manufacturer leads me to believe they are well aware of this issue. Below is the information for both company’s; Global Views, 7301 Ambassador Row, Dallas, TX 75247 (888-956-0030) Interiors, INC, 46 Park Lane, Hudson, OH (216-965-3779) The Delivery Company is; CW Delivery, 2549 Medina Rd, Medina, OH 44956 (330-723-4147) They can confirm the tipping issue. The two vendors cavalier remarks indicated they didn’t care about the safety issue even after the delivery personnel told them it was an issue.
