The product, in the report: Premium Light Tri-View Oak Cabinet
My wife was closing the middle mirror, when it didn’t close properly. She called me up to the bathroom. I went upstairs to the bathroom to check on the mirror to notice the top hinge cracked. I took it down for safety. I then checked the other two mirrors to notice another crack on the right side mirror hinge as well. I took that one down as well. I then called on RSI Home products on 1-2-2013 to speak with a young lady by the name [REDACTED]. She advised me that I would need the Model number to the cabinet. I gave her a brief description of the cabinet. She still stated, I will need the Model number. I’m just trying to prevent anyone from getting hurt.

The product, in the report: oak three mirror doors medicine cabinet
We moved into a brand newly built house on 11/01/06. Each of the three bathrooms has one of these beautiful Estate Medicine mirror bathroom cabinet with top lights. Well, on May 24, 2012, I opened one of the medicine cabinet mirror door as usually and it popped out hitting me in my forehead and the bridge of my nose before cutting me under my left nostril. I am bless that I was able to catch this mirror door before it fell to my the tile bathroom floor because that would have been a bigger mess to clean up broken glass while paralyzed from facial pain. After nursing the knot on my forehead and the bridge of my nose, and the cut under my nose for over a week we tried to figure out how [REDACTED] after using this same door mirror for years that all of a suddenly it decided to just pop out and hit me on three parts of my face. After we thoroughly examined this mirror, the cabinet it hung on, and the other medine cabinets in the other two bathrooms, my husband and I decided that this incident comes from a manufacturer defeat in the way the hinges were attached to the mirror doors, so we did some web surfing and found that our medicine cabinets was recalled. Wow, We had no idea that a recall was in effect for these lovely medicine cabinets because as I said, we purchased our house with the medicine mirror door cabinets already installed in the bathrooms. I am glad that the maker of these medicine mirror door cabinets took the responsibility to recall these medince cabinets and atleast offer free doors to replaced the old doors. I hope that people would read my experience with these medicine cabinets and take the responsibility of getting rid of these doors because I do not want this to happen to anyone else.

Hurt, no treatment Made Apr 26, 2012, sent to the company May 4, 2012, published by CPSC May 25, 2012
The product, in the report: lighted tri-view mirror medicine cabinet, Estate by RSI
We have an Estate by RSI lighted bath cabinet that was purchased approximately 9 months ago. We noticed the mirror was much thinner than our other cabinet, with no backing on the mirror. (we had prior problems with another Estate by RSI cabinet and understand there was a recall so assume they changed the mirror design). The current design is very flimsy and from the day we installed it we have had trouble. Metal plates fall off mirror backing, mirror tries to slip in hinges, almost impossible to keep cabinet aligned so mirrors close properly. Afraid to tighten screws on hinge any further for fear of breaking the mirror.
Tonight my 10 year old daughter opened the center mirror and it fell out of the hinge and hit her on the head. She managed to catch it even after it hit her on the head so that it did not crash onto the sink, therefore the mirror did not break. Will watch her to see if I feel we need to get her head x-rayed. It was the edge of the mirror that hit her head so conceivably could have had enough force to be an issue.
Very concerned that this could happen to other people. I have sent the company an email tonight to see if they have any suggestions for mirror replacement, etc. Will await a response. With the last cabinet we had trouble with we ended up with three different mirror shipments before the problem was resolved. And I believe we still have the recalled mirrors hanging in that bathroom, although the newer “fix” doesn’t seem to be much better, as evidenced by tonight’s incident.

No one hurt Made Jul 24, 2011, published by CPSC Aug 15, 2011
The product, in the report: Premium lighted tri-view cabinet & mirror
A medicine cabinet mirror by RSI Home Products came crashing down when my wife closed it. The metal hinge that was holding it broke. I e-mailed the company asking if I could buy a replacement mirror and heard no response. About two weeks later new mirrors arrived by Fedex, but two of the mirrors were broken. I noticed that the new hinges were bigger and sturdier. I was wondering why the company was so kind to me by giving me replacement mirrors for free, and decided to check the internet to see if there was a recall. There was. Now I’m mad because they didn’t tell me this and the potential for more mirrors to fall is still there.
