  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Feb 5, 2020, sent to the company Feb 27, 2020, published by CPSC Mar 12, 2020

The product, in the report: Better Homes & Gardens Model: BH17-084-098-77. Purchased on Walmart.com, Walmart item # 564134027. 6 cube organizer color: grey

I ordered a shelving unit made of MDF from Walmart.com. It took me about an hour to assemble it and within an hour of completing it I found my eyes were stinging. The next morning, my face felt grimy no matter how much I washed it and my eyes were stinging. This continued through the weekend. When I went to work on Monday I noticed by the end of the day I felt better, but after being home for a few hours my eyes were stinging again. By then I was convinced this shelving unit was connected. On Wednesday morning my husband started complaining of the same symptoms. At this point I became fearful not only for our health but that of our 18 month old.

I contacted Walmart and described my symptoms and I don’t feel they are taking this seriously. I believe this product is exclusive to Walmart. They did not address the health concerns and simply said if I couldn’t disassemble the item and put it back in its box they wouldn’t take it back or refund me. I did not want to touch the product again let alone disassemble it. So I am informing you in the hopes that my account will matter.
