The product, in the report: Sewing Machine Cabinet
The consumer spent two to three hours putting together her sewing machine cabinet in the house and has been feeling ill the entire time even though she washed her hands multiple times during this. The consumer is experiencing headaches, congestion, weakness, stomachaches, not thinking clearly, itchy eyes, slightly burning lips; she attributes this to possible formaldehyde exposure from the sewing machine cabinet.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative she spoke asked her to send them an e-mail so they could escalate it. The consumer was also informed that the factory the unit is made in uses formaldehyde for other products but not theirs and, if anything, it would only have traces amount of it; she was also advised to visit the Doctor.
The consumer is unsure if she will keep her sewing machine cabinet for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
1/27/24 - I still have the cabinet out in our garage. I am hoping you will test it.
