  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jan 9, 2015, sent to the company Feb 23, 2015, published by CPSC Mar 10, 2015

The product, in the report: 24” [to] 26”pillow with the Frozen character Olaf for decorative purposes only. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age.

(01/04/2015) The consumer stated she found that the fingers of the snowman have needle like strands are sharp. The consumer stated that one of the strands pricked her finger on her left hand. One of the strands fell out. It measured about seven inches in length.

The consumer is concerned that the strands can poke out the eye of a child. The strand can also scratch a child or be ingested by a child.

The consumer did not not require medical attention.

    Addendum to report:

The section on Product Detail has product listed as 24” x 26”. This needs to be corrected. When consumer spoke with the CPSC representative on January 9, 2015 consumer mentioned that the product (pillow) was between 24 to 26 inches in length.

Consumer contacted the manufacturer, Franco Manufacturing Co. in writing since my conversation with one of our representatives. Consumer heard from the manufacturer on Monday, February 2, 2015. Consumer has enclosed for your information a copy of the letter consumer sent to Franco Manufacturing and a copy of the letter they sent her.

The Frozen character pillow, Olaf, has what appear to be antlers on the top of the head. These antlers are made of the same material as the arms and hands and are also filled with the same plastic filaments as the arms, hands and fingers.

Consumer has enclosed photographs of the pillow and close-up photographs of the hand and filaments.

This product is advertised toward children.
