Made Jun 10, 2015, sent to the company Jun 18, 2015, published by CPSC Nov 6, 2015

The product, in the report: LaNoodle Cuddle Top Latex Topper

Fire Investigation determined a LaNoodle Cuddle Top Latex Topper was placed in dryer to fluff. Mattress topper was not washed prior to placement in dryer. Approximately 2-4 minutes later the dryer had heated the latex noodles of the product to the self ignition point which started a fire at rear of dryer (exhaust). As product was pulled smoldering from dryer the cotton cover ripped open and the latex noodles self ignited upon contact with more air. As the product was removed from the home, the noodles dropped starting spot fires from the dryer to the exterior of the house. Tenant received 2nd degree burns.
