  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Oct 15, 2025, sent to the company Oct 29, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2025

The product, in the report: Mainstays Super Soft Brushed Microfiber Sheet Set Queen Green Sage MS8501321522393 Queen flat sheet: 90 IN x 102 IN fits mattresses 60 IN x 80 IN Queen fitted sheet: 60 IN x 80 IN fits mattresses up to 15 IN deep Standard/queen pillowcases: 20 IN x 32 IN fits pillows 20 IN x 28 IN

I had a latex allergy reaction to a sheet set I recently purchased, however nowhere on the label does it state that there is latex in the product. I had to do personal research to find out that some recycled polyester is sometimes coated with latex or it’s used as adhesive for the fibers. The product is mainly labeled as Brushed Microfiber. In small print, it claims it’s material content is 55% recycled polyester, and 45% polyester. They also claim in small print, “Safety ensured through testing for harmful substances.” The product is, Super Soft Brushed Microfiber Sheets Set Queen Green Sage MS8501321522393, aka Mainstays brand Super Soft Sheet Set Brushed Microfiber. I personally as well as my partner were using the product. The product was being used as intended as a sheet set for a queen bed. The product caused severe itching and hives from minimal contact and duration. The symptoms are concurrent with known latex allergy symptoms. The symptoms occured during normal intended use of the product.
