  1. No one hurt

Made Nov 7, 2014, sent to the company Nov 21, 2014, published by CPSC Dec 8, 2014

The product, in the report: King size Bamboo Memory Foam Pillow by REST restsleeptech.com sold through shopbeyond.co purchased through a AAA promo.

Through a AAA promo on June 1st, I ordered two Bamboo Pillows for my young son’s new bedroom. As renovations were completed this day (Oct. 30th), we have finally unwrapped the pillows to make up his bed. While attempting to place a pillow case on the pillow, we were stuck by a sharp object that poked through the pillow. The pillow was previously sealed in a wrapper, and NO holes or openings were on the pillow fabric, and the seam was sewed closed. We videoed the opening of the pillow with scissors, and removed the very sharp cutter/seam ripper. I was dismayed to think that during the night this could have easily stabbed through the material and sliced his throat or punctured his temple or his eye. The cutter is EXTREMELY pointed and SHARP. I would prefer to think this was a careless accident as opposed to a disgruntled worker maliciously placing this within the pillow contents. Precautions should be taken so that this never happens again! At what point during production would this have been able to happen haphazardly?!
