Product information: Name: memory foam & Hydraluxe TM Cooling bed pillow ITM.ART. 622961 Bar Code 1381101270

    Purchased 4/21/2013 This date 4/24/2013

On removal from package found and read “gel odor discalimer” document which was place inside the package with the pillow. Excerpt: “Your pillow may initially have a slight odor, which is normal with newly manufactured foam. The odor is not hazardous or otherwise harmful. WE RECOMMEND that you place your pillow in a well-ventilated area after removing all the packaging components. Please allow up to 72 hours for the odor to completely dissipate. Both the Memory Foam and the Hydralux TM Gel are temperature-sensitive materials.”

Noted strong odor on removal from the inner plastic bag. Noted discomfort in nasal passages and headache while exposed to odor.

Complied with above instructions regarding airing for 72 hours. Odor is still strong and discomforting in proximity to the pillow. Neither my wife nor myself would ever be able to sleep on this - we would be sickened by it.

The product, in the report: Memory Pillow

The caller stated that after purchasing the pillow, he noticed that it was off-gassing chemical odors. He was informed that that the odor should dissipate within 2-3 days after ventilation but it has been over 3 weeks and the odor remains overwhelming. He stated that his room mate has developed headaches due to the odor, he recently felt nauseous and removed it from his room.

The manufacturer was not contacted because the label stated it was made in China and he cannot find any contact for Comfort Revolutions.

The caller feels that this pillow is a health hazard and should be reported.
