The product, in the report: Wolfgang Puck - “3qt Tea Kettle” Stainless Steel #0315 with Whistle
January 7, 2016 around 12:30pm - My mother was boiling water in a Wolfgang Puck brand 3 quart stainless steel tea kettle, which was newly purchased 3 weeks ago on December 17, 2015 at the HomeGoods store in Temecula, CA. When the water was boiling, she lifted the kettle off the stove by the handle, at which point the kettle broke at the handle. The kettle fell, splashing boiling water onto the kitchen floor as well as onto my mother’s stomach. She sustained a burn, which caused a burn blister and redness on her skin. I was sitting close by at the dining table and witnessed the water splashing after hearing a loud noise of something dropping. The handle was only secured to the kettle by very small spot welds.
