The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 16, 2022, sent to the company Apr 21, 2022, published by CPSC May 5, 2022

The product, in the report: UPPHETTA French press coffee maker, glass, stainless steel, Height: 9” Diameter: 4”. Pour hot water over ground coffee beans or tea leaves, push down the strainer and serve straight from the French press coffee maker

I purchased an UPPHETTA French press coffee maker from Ikea the third time I used it the glass carafe became separated from the handle and fell off. It spilled hot coffee all over myself and my kitchen counter. I was using the product according to directions. Fortunately I let the coffee sit a little longer than usual before attempting to pour it so the coffee was not as hot as it should have been. The product is designed to use boiling water, it is not sturdy enough to use safely for this purpose.
