Hurt, no treatment Made Jul 19, 2022, sent to the company Jul 22, 2022, published by CPSC Aug 5, 2022
The product, in the report: Sur La Table Stainless Steel Tea Kettle, 2.5 liters (it’s the only one they make) https://www.surlatable.com/sur-la-table-stainless-steel-kettle/PRO-7004880.html?start=-18
I purchased a stainless steel tea kettle with a foldable handle from Sur La Table (their own branded product). The first time I used it, I boiled water in it, and when I was in the process of pouring the water into a mug, at a certain angle of tipping the kettle in order to be able to pour the water out, it made the kettle swing around on the foldable handle and hit my hand, burning it. That same day, I immediately submitted a review of the product on the company’s website, explaining what happened (and suggesting that if people want to try to risk using it, they first test it by just using cold water), but the company never posted the review and never contacted me. (Just a note: I do not know when the tea kettle was manufactured, but I think this is a product the company has only recently started to sell.)
