The product, in the report: 40oz clear glass teapot with rounded glass handle. Advertised as microwave safe.
Order# [REDACTED] from Amazon.com--a Primula glass teapot, 40 oz., advertised as microwave safe. Notification below just sent to Amazon.
Dear Amazon, I’m not asking for replacement or return, but want Amazon to know of a safety issue with the product-- a glass teapot made and sold under Primula brand. Though listed as dishwasher and microwave safe, the entire handle simply separated from the pot as I was pouring microwave-heated tea on Sunday, leaving a hole in the side of the glass pot as it fell to the table. I had only a couple of small burns from sloshes hot tea and two tiny finger cuts (like paper cuts, so not serious) from the ragged edge where I picked it up after it fell--very lucky. The main part of the pot did not break-- It appeared the handle bond just failed with no warning-- apparently from cumulative microwave use..? I will be happy to send a photograph to you or the maker, but definitely recommend you remove the “microwave safe” from the product listing and warn the maker. I will do a review (my first) to share the warning, but worry about others who already have purchased. In was fortunate to be at the table when pouring, but others could have the thing smash down and drench them in scalding tea. Thanks, [REDACTED] Main email address: [REDACTED]
