The product, in the report: Stainless steel coffee percolator

Hello, I purchased an Elite Gourmet coffee percolator on March 3,2023. Within one month the glass knob that goes on top of the unit randomly cracked when I took it off to clean it. I notified the manufacturer and they mailed me a replacement knob. On December 4,2024; the glass knob broke again and a sizeable piece of the glass was inside the unit on top of the metal coffee strainer. I didn’t realize the broken piece was there, until I opened the flip top of the unit. This was disturbing, because I sometime reheat any coffee left in the percolator and I wouldn’t have known if any glass pieces fell into the pot, if I then drank it. So I contacted the manufacturer again and submitted a screenshot of the cracked knob and the piece of glass that broke off. I also submitted a receipt from my original purchase of the unit. I then discarded the unit, but I kept the cracked knob & the piece of glass that broke off. The manufacturer replied that I needed to submit a picture of the unit and I let them know I discarded it already. I did this because I really didn’t want a third replacement knob, because I no longer feel safe using the unit; due to the risk of the knob cracking again and therefore; resulting in a potential injury to myself. Since I no longer had the unit, the customer service representative stated that it’s not their policy to replace the unit and would only replace the knob. Again, I wasn’t interested in receiving a new unit nor the knob. My intention was to emphasize to the manufacturer that there is clearly a defect with the glass knob, as I strongly feel it shouldn’t crack and break so easily and at random. In my opinion, the unit needs to be recalled for consumer safety purposes. However, the manufacturer seemed completely unconcerned about the potential risk. So I’m requesting that you investigate this matter and if it’s deemed necessary; immediately recall the product and/or advise the manufacturer to improve/modify the construction of the glass knob to prevent any injuries. Here is the manufacturer contact information: On Fri, Dec 6, 2024, 12:42 PM [REDACTED] - Elite Gourmet Customer Support <[REDACTED]> wrote: Hello [REDACTED]. We do apologize, we will only replace the part that is damaged (Glass Knob), not the entire unit.

The product, in the report: Elite Gourmet EC008 Classic Stovetop Coffee Percolator 8 cup Stainless Steel

Clear glass progress knob on stovetop coffee percolator shattered spilling glass shards into the pot of coffee below. After this happened, I did a cursory search of this and similar products and found that others had a similar experience with this type product.
