The product, in the report: Alessi Michael Graves Tea Kettle with Whistling Bird very popular, description easily located on google
I boiled water for my tea and the Alessi Michael Graves teapot “whistling bird” began to melt.
The melted plastic has infiltrated the spout and the entire product is no longer usable.
If one poured water over the melted plastic I presume the water would then be contaminated.
The design of the teapot with the whistling bird has gained much acclaim. I do not know if the particular “whistling bird” is defective or if there is an issue in the manufacturing process which may affect all of the kettles that have been sold.
I believe the product is manufactured or designed by an Italian company, Alessi.com ?
