The product, in the report: Legacy Studio Indian Batiks Cotton Fabric Medallion Swirls from Joann Fabrics Item# 15561616 Batik Cotton Fabric-Metallic Scrolls on Teal Rainbow Item number 16015281 I have 7 fabrics with the gold from Joann’s they all have the same odor

I bought batik fabrics from Joann Fabrics with a gold design. When I sprayed plain water there was a strong odor coming from the fabric. When I ironed it the odor got worse. Soon after I got a bad headache. I then checked 2 others I bought the same day as well as 3 with the same design I bought over a year ago. I then took the fabrics to my teenage daughters bedrooms to smell and had my husband smell the fabrics. All of us got headaches from this. I bought other batik fabrics the same day none of them smelled like stale [REDACTED]. It was only the ones with gold. I cut off a 2 inch strip from one of new fabrics and hand washed the gold flaked off and still smelled. My biggest concern is for children if someone makes a baby quilt with these fabrics especially with the gold flaking off if a baby puts this in their mouth the may get very ill. It was bad enough we got headaches from the odor.
