The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: SuperCloset SuperStar LED Smart Grow Cabinet with two magnetic Kind LED X Series LED light bars. During setup, one light bar’s end cap exploded/scorched near the power connector after the user plugged both light bars directly into wall power while also connecting the included daisy chain cable between the two lights, completing a circuit back to the power strip and causing an electrical fault. Circuit breaker tripped.

During setup of a newly purchased SuperCloset SuperStar LED Smart Grow Cabinet, the end cap of one of the two magnetic Kind LED X Series LED light bars exploded/scorched near the power connector. Each light bar came with its own individual power plug, and the package also included a daisy chain cable to connect the two light bars. My son, who was setting it up, plugged both light bars directly into wall power AND also connected the daisy chain cable between the two lights, not understanding that the daisy chain was an alternative to plugging both in separately. This completed a circuit back to the power strip and caused an electrical fault: the end cap of the light bar blew out with visible scorching, and the circuit breaker tripped. My son sustained a burn injury from the exploding light bar and I am seeking emergency medical evaluation for him. I am concerned that other users could similarly misunderstand the power/daisy-chain setup and experience an electrical fault, fire, or injury.
