The product, in the report: 3 set battery operated multi-color real-wax candle by SELS (Smart Era Lighting Systems). Comes with remote control and AAA batteries.
I purchased battery operated candled (set of 3) set by SELS from Ollie’s [REDACTED] about 2/23/2019. I used the candles using the alkaline batteries that were included. At 4am on March 2 the candle (not powered on) exploded on my nightstand shooting the top of the candle completely off of the base and sending a piece of the candle plastic flying onto my bed.
the next day, I notified Ollie’s manager who said he would pull from shelves and contact buyer as well. I called the # on the box for customer service (302-538-2028) but it rang and then hung up immediately. I also called [REDACTED] to report it to see if they could televise to warn consumers.
Then, again today (March 13) about 11:30am, I heard a loud explosion as I worked in my home office. The box of candles were on the floor. Yet another candle exploded inside the Styrofoam inside the box.
