The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Ever Brite motion activated led light. Sticks to any surface (false) lasts 5 years or 100,000 hours (false)

I ordered Ever Brite solar lights in February 2016. I complained to the company twice of the short life of their products within 9 months (Nov). They last less than 6500 hours when they guarantee 5 years or 100,000 hours. I received no response back. The near tragedy that just happened was one of the lights exploded and sparked a fire. My garage almost burned down. I wasn’t home, so I was lucky that it melted off and fell to the ground. But there was damage to the garage and the garage door. I wrote to the company again and attached photos of the damage and the defective product (what was left of it). Still waiting to hear from them. I’m still pretty shook up at what could have happened. I’m remodeling and everything I own is in the garage. I want to warn everyone not to buy the product. Many stores sell them, as does the internet. They all need recalled because they will eventually burn down someone’s house.
