Hurt, no treatment Made Dec 9, 2025, sent to the company Dec 12, 2025, published by CPSC Dec 31, 2025
The product, in the report: Celebrations 25 indoor/outdoor multi-ceramic C7 light string 24 feet, SKU 97357, UPC 8 43518 01033 4. The string itself is green and the bulbs are red, orange, blue, green, and white.
I plugged in some Christmas lights (Celebrations 25 indoor/outdoor multi-ceramic C7 24 ft light string, SKU 97357, bar code 843518010334) into my bedroom outlet. When I tried to hang them on the window, the hook I was going to use fell down, so I went to the other room to grab another adhesive strip for it. I left the light string plugged in and in a rough pile on the bed. I was only gone for a minute or so, but when I got back, I smelled plastic (like it was melting). When I reached for the light string, it burned my finger (it healed on it’s own within a couple days). I unplugged it and decided it wasn’t safe to use these this year. I bought these lights at least a year ago, but I’m not sure where (maybe Ace Hardware?)
