The product, in the report: This is a brown pub chair with a padded seat, high back and four legs. It is sold at AT HOME stores under the name Montreal Wood Barstool with Upholstered Seat & Nailhead Trim. Dimensions are 21.2” L x 45.8” H x 19.0” W. UPC is 651915582305. This was being used in our home as a kitchen counter stool.

I am writing to report what I consider to be a very unsafe consumer product. The product is Montreal Wood Barstool with Upholstered Seat & Nailhead Trim sold in AT HOME stores. While sitting on the stool which had only been in use for about 1 year, the back gave way and broke away from the stool. Upon careful examination of the other two stools, they also had cracks in the wood on the back, front and sides. We are two senior citizens of normal recommended weight with no children in the home. The furniture was in no way abused. In fact, it was carefully cared for. After contacting the vendor without result, I had the stools evaluated by a craftsman who indicated that the wood used was of poor quality and the stools were cheaply constructed.
