  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jun 27, 2012, sent to the company Jul 6, 2012, published by CPSC Jul 20, 2012

The product, in the report: Canvas folding chair.

On July 30, 2011 I purchased two of these rocker chairs from Amazon.com.

    http://www.amazon.com/Products-13-6506-Arizona-Rocker-Folding/dp/B001TQMZWU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340800034&sr=8-1&keywords=prime+products+13-6506+elite+arizona+tan+rocker+folding+chair

At first they seemed to be a good choice, but both of them now have broken arm assembly’s and are unusable. The back of the chair is no longer supported. The arm assyembly supports the back of the chair. The arms are made of a soft plastic and are reinforced with a strip of metal in the arms underside. The problem arises when you lean back on the back of the chair to relax. With no more than average leaning the aluminum rivits joining the back tube and arm rest bend, and eventuly stress the plastic at the rear of the arm cracking it. This in turn stresses the aluminum rivet, bending it, and it pulls through the metal strip and the back support fails. I took a nasty spill when the chair’s arm assembly failed and it collapsed. Luckily I was no grass, not concrete. I did strain my arm catching myself as I fell. No medical attention was needed, but is still hurts.
