Emergency room Made Jun 23, 2020, sent to the company Jul 15, 2020, published by CPSC Jul 29, 2020
The product, in the report: Folding reclining lawn chair
Purchased 4 lawn chaise chairs for our new patio from Ace Hardware in Seekonk Ma. “ Living Accents Sling Folding Chaise” with SKU#8390205, quantity 4. The chairs were picked up fully assembled 5/29/2020. On Friday, 6/12/2020 approximately 6:30 pm, I put my hands on the armrests to lower myself onto the chair, and it instantaneously collapsed And broke, causing me to fall to the ground. This was the first time this chair has been used. I am 5’4” tall and weigh approximately 130lbs. The tip of my right middle finger was cut off back to the tip of my bone, actually exposing it. (The right hand is my dominant hand) I was treated at the emergency room at [REDACTED] Hospital, [REDACTED] Ma. I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon associated with that hospital. Because of the type of work that I do, my doctor has told me I can not return to work until she feels it has healed enough and my pain subsides.
