The product, in the report: Foldable, lounge chair, that you can lie down in Registration # CA 33407 (RC)
The chair was purchased 4 - 6 years ago, but the consumer does not remember where it was purchased from.
The consumer was opening the lounge chair, when it amputated part of her right ring finger. She had opened the top part of the lounge chair and her fingers/hand were underneath the chair, while she attempted to open the bottom portion. The incident occurred, while opening the bottom half of the chair. The consumer’s son was there and he immediately rushed her to the hospital. X-rays were taken and it was determined that the bone had been sheared off. Remaining bone fragments were removed from her finger, sutures were applied, along with bandages. The consumer was released the same day and referred to a hand surgeon.
When the consumer came home the next morning, her son went outside to look at the lounge chair and he found the missing part of her finger, wedged in the bottom of the chair.
2021: She entered the registration number on the Internet and she claimed that [REDACTED], had similar looking chairs recalled, for amputation hazards. Additionally, she said they both had registration numbers that included her number. She sent an email to [REDACTED], asking if she bought her chair from them. She provided her Registration Number to them. She later received an email reply, indicating that she did not.
The consumer is attempting to identify who may have sold her chair and would like to warn others about this potential hazard.
