Emergency room Made Aug 8, 2011, published by CPSC Sep 1, 2011
The product, in the report: Children’s folding table with 2 folding chairs
My 4 yr. old daughter was playing and she had one of the metal chairs from the table and chairs set. She was watching a movie and was sitting in the chair and decided to get up. Somehow the chair collapsed when she tried to fold it and got her finger caught in it. She had a compound fracture and a nearly full amputation of her pinky finger. It severed it from behind the nail down. I had just left the room when I heard her scream. When I opened the chair to release her finger it was dangling by a small sliver of skin and that was all. Fortunately, they were able to reattach it. We could see that they were dangerous when they got them as a gift. We rarely let them use them before this incident and we will be disposing them soon.
