My daughter wanted a day bed with a trundle and I wanted to purchase a twin mattress for her. I bought the Spa Sensations Zinus Gel Ultra for her from Walmart website. The mattress arrived in a box and it said that you had to let it self rise for a few days. My daughter started to wake up with all kinds of scratch marks on her legs, arms and face. She said she also had headaches, felt really run down like she was catching something, joint ache, lethargic. My husband took her to an immediate care thinking she might have Covid. They took a swab of her throat for cultures and also administered the Covid rapid test. After 2-3 days all reports came back negative. She still feels not quite right but we did buy her a new mattress. She has no new scratch marks on her body. Also, I did take her to her pediatrician and said physically she is fine and that if her symptoms continue to call her office. About 2 days ago (today is May 1, 2021), my father in law said he saw on the news a lawsuit pertaining to Zinus mattress and that a younger child had scratches all over her body. My father in law asked me if I bought the same brand/ manufacturer mattress? I said yes and so here we are. The tag on the label says that there is fiber glass as a component in the materials.
