The product, in the report: Purple Mattress 3 by Mattress Firm and sprayed by Mattress Firm Model V000102171 HYBRID PREMIER 3” MATTRESS QUEEN 123029

On Monday August 17, 2020 I made a purchase for a mattress at MATTRESS FIRM [REDACTED]. A nice salesman sold me a PURPLE MATTRESS, an expensive organic material mattress that had been previously sold but the man told me they do not take back mattresses except in new condition. In the store I tried it out and smelled it in front of the man. I ordered it. On Monday around 1pm, the mattress was delivered. I smelled an odor in a few minutes after the men left throughout my home. Suddenly I could not breathe properly and my tongue was swelling up. I didn’t know what it was at first. I got dizzy and throat started hurting badly. I could not get away from the smell except going outside. I was scared and thought I was having a stroke. I called poison control. I told them what happened, the store was closed. They told me to stay somewhere and I took my pets and left. My tongue was still swollen but now lost my sense of taste. I went in the house hoping the smell was gone, but started throwing up and knew I could not stay long, then a migraine. I immediately went to the doctor. He confirmed my tongue was swelled and the other issues. I finally got in touch with the mattress company and said they sprayed a chemical STERI FAB. I would never have purchased an organic mattress sprayed with a toxic chemical. This chemical is very dangerous to me. I feel I should have been told since I was interested in a toxic free mattress. I am on heavy steroids and inhaler, my EKG was fine, but I’m not fine. I’m worried about my health. I’m 60, had a tumor in my chest last year removed. I want everyone to know about this I see many people talking about this and complaints. My headaches have not resided, my throat is still swollen and hard to breath. Mattress Firm will not issue me a refund. I do not trust getting another mattress because where they are stored they spray the chemicals. The corporate office people blocked me and the two main people are [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] They refuse to speak to me or acknowledge me. Again, I was never told that this mattress would be hosed down with chemicals and this is not buyers remorse, I love the mattress but could not keep it, I felt like I was going to die, and I need everyone to know. No one should experience this toxic chemical and it should be banned. Sincerely, [REDACTED]
