I purchased a mattress on Amazon in August of 2024. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09RF5BJ78?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1
I checked the materials before purchasing the mattress. On 12/27/2024 my teen had me come look at the furniture under their bunkbed. It was covered with fiberglass threads and dust.
I cross checked the mattress on this website [REDACTED] and the manufacturer is listed.
I called the manufacturer and they said I would be referred to the “department for fiberglass complaints”. The manufacterer referred me back to Amazon for pickup and cleaning. I contacted Amazon and am still waiting to hear what they are going to do.
We’ve never opened the mattress covering, but there is fiberglass that has made its way out of the mattress cover and is covering the desk and bookcase.
I have to take my teen into the dr to assess the impact to their health, but they have been getting nauseous and throwing up at night, which is a sign of ingesting fiberglass.

No one hurt Made Nov 11, 2023, sent to the company Nov 15, 2023, published by CPSC Nov 30, 2023
The product, in the report: Siena Mattress, Queen Size
I recently purchased a Queen-size Siena Mattress on Amazon.com. Siena is a sub-brand of Resident Home, which manufactures the Nectar mattress. Upon setting up the mattress, I noticed a warning that said, ‘Do not remove the zippers. Property damage, etc., can occur if zippers are removed.’ It was something along those lines. I knew this mattress contained fiberglass as a fire retardant and had researched numerous articles stating it is safe as long as I don’t remove the outer cover. I never removed the cover. After purchasing it, I started having a stuffy nose, and my cat began sneezing occasionally. I attributed this to seasonal changes. Occasionally, my skin itched, which I also thought was due to seasonal allergies. However, the new kitten my housemate adopted likes to run around the house. She went under my bed, and I saw crystal-like sharp material protruding from the bottom barrier of my Siena mattress. I immediately recognized it as fiberglass, having seen enough news and videos about it on social media. I used my phone’s flashlight to inspect further and realized that fiberglass was poking through the barrier, with some fibers attached to the metal bed slats, etc. I also found these sharp materials on the fitted sheet, although not as much as on the bottom of my mattress. I contacted Siena but haven’t heard back for a few days. They kept asking for my contact information but to no avail. I feel really frustrated. I’ve ordered a new mattress and will remove this one myself, hoping that Siena resolves the issue and arranges for its disposal. I know fiberglass is safe if the outer cover is well-reinforced, but it seems that’s not the case with Siena’s product. It appears to be a thin layer of rayon or polyester. It’s frustrating that they continue using this material without diligent research and development, especially after class-action lawsuits concerning their sub-brand Nectar.
