The product, in the report: Queen split hybrid mattress made by Healthcare Co., Ltd for Malouf
October 2, 2024, I encountered a serious issue with my bedroom split queen mattress involving fiberglass contamination. After removing and washing the bedding and zippered cover (per care instruction on mattress label that says, “The zippered cover can be machine washed with mild detergent in warm water. Tumble dry on low heat.”), I noticed what appeared to be white lint on my clothing, which later turned out to be fiberglass. This led to severe itching, skin irritation, and discomfort, which worsened when I returned to bed. Over the following days, I realized that the fiberglass had spread across my home on my furniture, walls, clothes, and even my skin. I have since taken significant steps to try and clean the affected areas, including vacuuming, washing multiple loads of laundry, wiping down surfaces, and purchasing two HEPA filter air purifiers. Despite my efforts, the fiberglass contamination persists in the room where the mattress is located, and my husband and I have had to move into our RV for the time being due to health concerns.
