The product, in the report: Home Life Basic 6-inch model mattress, Queen
I was told by you that: “Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mattresses and contact Superior Importers or the place of purchase for instructions on receiving a free mattress cover to bring the mattress into compliance with the federal standard.”
This was for a Queen sized mattress sold by Superior Importers exclusively on Amazon. https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2018/Superior-Importers-Recalls-Mattresses-Due-to-Violation-of-Federal-Mattress-Flammability-Standard-Sold-Exclusively-at-Amazoncom
However, the company told me this:
“Hello,
Thank you so much for your email.
We understand your concern regarding the recall notice you received. Rest assured this mattress is not flammable and can still be used. It just does not contain enough inflammable material. All you will require a mattress cover very similar to a waterproof cover that we’ll send you free of charge.
This is a voluntary recall. No incidents have ever arisen concerning this mattress. You do NOT need to discontinue use of your mattress.” -- Superior Importers
