  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 30, 2023, sent to the company Sep 26, 2023, published by CPSC Oct 11, 2023

The product, in the report: Helix Kids Twin Mattress - Dimensions are supposed to be 75 inches by 38 inches. Actual dimensions are 73 inches by 38 inches.

A Helix Kids Twin mattress was purchased and the advertised size of this mattress is the standard twin size (75x38). The mattress was received and measured an entire 2 inches shorter than the standard 75 inches. This made the mattress not fit snugly in the bed frame and actually left quite a gap which has been known to cause injuries to toddlers. This bed is specifically advertised for children aged 3 to 12. When I contacted Helix to request a mattress that is the correct size I was told that they are now making their Kids Twin Mattress to a standard of 74 inches so the 73 inches was within their limits. Their website explicitly states that the dimensions are 75x38 so not only is this unsafe for children, but it is also false advertising. The return process has been horrible as well. The mattress was purchased July 28th and a return process was started Aug 14th and here it is Aug 30th and I still have not received my money back. Customer service does not return emails and it is nearly impossible to get them on the phone. We have had to purchase a different mattress for our toddler in the meantime despite not having our money refunded from Helix. This mattress is unsafe, poorly made, and most definitely not firm enough for a toddler. I want to warn other parents.
