The product, in the report: Twin Mattress Set

Caller purchased a twin mattress set on Saturday, September 20th, 2014. The retailer had the set delivered to her Sunday, September 21st, 2014. As the delivery team was taking the plastic off the set she noticed an extremely strong odor of chemicals coming from the mattress and box spring. She said the delivery team left so quickly she couldn’t speak with them about this issue. She contacted the retailer who advised her that this smell would dissipate, however the consumer is now reporting to the CPSC on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 that the mattress is still reeking of this odor.

She has tried to sleep on the mattress Monday night 09/22/and Tuesday night 09/23 but noticed that she had a headache on Sunday 09/21th, Monday 09/22nd and then on Tuesday she noticed that she was also developing respiratory problems.

She contacted the retailer to ask for her money back September 21st, was advised that she could obtain a replacement mattress set.. She responded that she wanted nothing from that same company if this set is an example of their selections. She has not contacted the manufacturer because she does not have contact name anss information. Sales reps - [REDACTED].
