The product, in the report: Cool Gel Chill 14 Inch Medium Firm Memory Foam Mattress Queen Size, with 2 Bonus CoolGel Memory Foam Bed Pillows, 14” with Pressure Relief, CertiPUR-US Certified, Cooling Queen Mattress in a Box

I purchased this mattress in 2022 after weeks of extensive research on different mattresses, their allergen and safety ratings, whether theyre known to have fiberglass, and their reviews. The company promises in its description that its Fiberglass Free and that it meets high safety standards. However, that is a false claim and this mattress poses serious risk of harm to purchasers, including children.

The dangerous amounts of fiber glass leaking from this mattress has significantly upended my life and has destroyed the health of myself and my pet. The cover was never unzipped or removed and a waterproof mattress protector has been used since the day of delivery.

Since purchasing and even more so recently, both myself and my pet have experienced frequent symptoms and/or illness related to fiberglass exposure including severe skin, respiratory and ear/nose/throat issues.

Im now not only having to face significant health issues for myself and my pet that incurred severe airway inflammation, Im also forced to carry the major financial burden that comes with fiberglass contamination in a home.

I have previously contacted Classic Brands and Amazon to report this, only to learn that the company filed bankruptcy in 2022 and claims to no longer be operating as a company, despite continuing to sell their products under the same name. As of 2025, theyre not only still on Amazon, but even marketing and selling their products on [REDACTED].

I strongly recommend an investigation of Classic Brands and will be exploring any legal recourse options available.

The product, in the report: The full product name on Amazon was “Classic Brands Cool 1.0 Ultimate 14-Inch) Gel Memory Foam Mattress,”. The exact product listing is discontinued and Classic Brands has gone out of business, but they have since been acquired and mattresses still seem to be sold under the brand, so I am concerned about the ones still on the market having a similar faulty design.

The mattress leaked a significant amount of fiberglass through the cover over 4 years of normal use, without ever being unzipped. It was enough to completely coat the floor under the bed with glittery, straight-line streaks. In the time we have had the mattress, all in the household have had respiratory discomfort as well as sharp prickly sensations especially on the feet after walking around the bed.

The product, in the report: 14” Queen Mattress with 2 free pillows

Purchased a 14” Classic Brands Ultimate Cooling Gel from Amazon for about $400. Have had the bed for less than a year. Bed sleeps great as I’ve had back and neck pain since 2012. Just 2 days after my birthday, and 2 days from our 1 year anniversary from buying the home, my 4yo daughters spills ice cream on the mattress and as I’ve cherished the mattress, I took the initiative to wash all of the bedding. The mattress had a zipper which made it easily accessible, and I immediately assumed it could be taken of to wash. Indeed I did, and that same night I woke up choking and coughing, looked at my phone to check the time and these particles kept flying onto my phone screen like magnetically. Turned my phone flash on and there were glitter like particles everywhere on my blankets clothes, from my room to my children’s bedrooms, the living, and kitchen area. Had no idea what it could’ve been. The next morning I couldn’t see with my naked eye what those particles were so I didn’t think anything of it until few hours I remembered I only saw it when my phone flash was on the night prior. Flash my phone light and there they were... fiberglass all over my bedroom walls, our curtains, clothes, the bed! Abatement cost was nearly $24K, excluding the cost to replace nearly everything in my home. From furniture, to beddings, clothes on our backs, food, etc. Contaminated nearly every inch of our home, including our washer/dryer which had then contaminated clothes we’ve had to wash. This nightmare all over a mattress! Would I purchase this bed again? There’s a 20% chance only maybe if fiberglass isn’t used as a fire retardant in this mattress! We the consumers buy these products and depend on them for a good night’s sleep. Classic Brands has denied any demand request through my attorney. Shows they have no empathy and will take no fault in the cheap alternative materials they place in these beds. Whether or not the cover was unzipped, fiberglass can break down into micro particles and then eventually seep through the cover. Hopefully in good faith, they will change their million dollar minds and pay for all damages occured, and compensate for ever dime loss. Fiberglass should be BANNED from all and EVERY mattress in this industry. Imagine a new born laying and breathing in that fiberglass! Million dollar company, it’s highly unlikely the manufacturer’s children sleep on the beds they manufacture because of the fiberglass in them.

I purchases this mattress on amazon, Classic Brands Cool Gel Chill Memory Foam 14-Inch Mattress with 2 BONUS Pillows |CertiPUR-US Certified |Bed-in-a-Box, King, and it is filled with fiberglass shards that have cut into my husband and my skin in one nights sleep. the manufacturer is aware of the issue as they have melted the zipper together that would normally allow this cover to be removed and washed. I am sure they have done this to contain as much of the fiberglass as possible. now amazon will not pick this mattress up and get the unsafe product out of our house.
