  1. Emergency room

Made Oct 7, 2024, sent to the company Oct 10, 2024, published by CPSC Nov 1, 2024

The product, in the report: I bought a king size bob of pedic mattress at Bob’s discount furniture in Scarborough Maine 11 years ago it came with a Bob’s discount furniture mattress cover with a zipper which let you expose yourself to the fiberglass liner underneath put there to help prevent fires. It filled me with fiberglass and it needs to be recalled so it doesn’t keep happening to anyone else

I bought a mattress about 11 years ago at Bob’s discount furniture it was filled with fiberglass which I was unaware of until 8 months ago. This is after about a year and a half of me researching going to doctors and trying to figure out what’s going on with my health and my skin. A friend of mine mentioned fiberglass being put in the mattresses so I went home and checked my mattress was completely covered. Bob’s discount furniture issued me a store credit for the mattress but I feel like there should be a recall made and I am still completely filled with fiberglass and need help

The product, in the report: Memory foam mattress

Fiberglass contamination from unzipping a Bob O pedic memory foam mattress to check for moisture. No warning label indicating not to unzip the cover. Hard to breathe, entire room contaminated with fiberglass..now replacing all soft surfaces. The fibers are almost impossible to get rid of, making breathing uncomfortable and difficult. Concerned about long-term effects on health as well as expenses incurred to replace the mattress, bed linens, carpet clothing, and purchase of a room purifier.

The product, in the report: Memory foam mattress

Caller stated that she discovered that there was mold on her mattress when her grandchild accidentally wet the bed. She is not sure how long the mold had been there because she has never lifted the mattress. Caller is concerned that she could have been sleeping on mold for a long time which is a health hazard.

(6/2015) Caller stated that she contacted the manufacturer and they are unwilling to replace the mattress. Caller stated that she purchased a 20 year warranty on the bed and when the service technician came out they advised that the incident was not covered.

To whom it may concern: The report Discount Bob PUT on record was that it’s a 10” round mold spot. Clearly it’s a 4’ round mold spot. As of this date if you need photo sent, please call or email the caller at [REDACTED] all lower case letters. The caller’s husband has just passed away with respiratory & heart failure. On July 5th. So the caller is focusing on his burial at this . Thank you, [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: foam mattress

I bought a foam mattress from Bobs discount furniture store. There was a warning of a possible smell coming from the mattress. It has been strong enough that i was getting a minor headache and we have not been able to sleep in the bedroom. My wife is pregnant and we have small pets. I am concerned that the fumes emanating could be dangerous. Although the fumes are going away, I am worried if there are any short or long term effects from the chemicals used in the foam?
