The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Kyte Sleep Bag Swaddler

I have a Kyte Sleep Bag Swaddler purchased in 2025. It is NOT one of the old, previously recalled versions. The [REDACTED] is incredibly strong at first until it isnt. It wears away within a few weeks then the soft part of the [REDACTED] doesnt work at all. The bottom panel wears away the quickest. My baby was wearing the swaddle, and I knew the bottom panel of [REDACTED] was weakened. I did not realize that if it came apart, which it did, she would be able to work the swaddle fabric up over her face. Particularly dangerous because the parts of the [REDACTED] that were still sticky are on there really well - So the fabric she worked over her face was still tightly held down to her body making it tight around her face. It was so scary to find her like that.

The product, in the report: Baby sleepsack, various sizes and colors, 1 tog

Sleepsack interior threads came loose and wrapped around my nephews toe while napping. Toe turned blue, thankfully hes okay and his toe is okay, but had it happened during the night he could have lost his toe. I think its important to make this known because I have many sleep sacks from this brand and almost all of them have loose interior threads from repeated use. They have all been washed and air dried as per the companies washing requirements. When it happened to my nephew in 2022 it was an older model with straight stitching. The company claimed the issue was fixed with a new zig-zag pattern stitch that was released in 2022. I had a baby in 2021 who wore size large through 2023 and a new baby in 2023 who wore size xs, small, and medium. The threads still came loose with the newer sleep sacks I have owned since 2022. I told the company again and they said its because of user-error. Any baby that can walk should not be in one anymore. Except their sleep sacks are marketed all they way to XL. An XL is to fit a child 38-50lbs and 37-47 tall. My nearly 5 year old isnt 47 tall, so if the larger sleep sacks cannot be worn by walking toddlers who are they for?? A medium size fits my 12 month old. We no longer use any of their sleep sacks out of concern for the safety of their toes, but I am concerned for other young babies and toddlers. I would only ever put one on my child with footed pajamas to protect them.
